This affiliation integrates the hotel into a curated network of over 450 independent luxury hotels in more than 80 countries, giving international travelers direct access to Nairobi’s finest luxury boutique hospitality.
The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) Vice President of Member Success and Development, Dean Bannon marked the partnership, noting that Hemingways Nairobi is an important addition to The Leading Hotels portfolio.
“It is giving us our first and only member hotel in Kenya, and expanding our presence in East Africa with a property that is highly distinctive in its market. Its all-suite format, personalized approach to service and strong connection to Kenyan culture align with the independent character we seek in our new members. Welcoming Hemingways Nairobi allows us to better serve our curious travelers’ growing interest in destination travel.”
For Hemingways Nairobi, the affiliation strengthens the hotel’s ability to reach discerning international travelers and specialist luxury travel advisors while remaining proudly independent.
It reinforces the property’s position as a benchmark for Kenyan luxury hospitality and supports Hemingways’ broader ambition to showcase the best of East Africa to the world.
“Joining The Leading Hotels of the World is an important milestone for Hemingways Nairobi and for Kenyan hospitality. It gives us a stronger international platform while allowing us to remain true to the independent spirit, thoughtful service and warm Kenyan character that define the Hemingways experience,” stated Ross Evans, CEO of Hemingways Group.
As Hemingways Nairobi takes its place alongside the world’s finest independent luxury hotels, the induction marks a new era for East African hospitality- proving that local heritage, thoughtful design and world-class luxury can stand shoulder to shoulder on the global stage.

Hemingways Collection is a premier luxury hospitality brand operating five-star boutique hotels and safari camps in Kenya and Rwanda.

The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) on the other hand, comprises more than 450 hotels in over 80 countries and happens to be the largest collection of independent luxury hotels.
Historically, some 38 independent hotels came together in 1928, to create LHW. Since then, the Company has carefully curated distinctive hotels, resorts, inns, chalets, villas, and safari camps from the snow-capped Alps of Europe to the African veldt, to share them with adventurous souls who seek the remarkably uncommon.
